(optional) Performance Guide

Everything here is optional. Do it if the game runs slower than you would like. Work top to bottom and stop when you are happy with the framerate.

Show your FPS first

In game, go to Options → Video Settings → select Chloride in the left pane → Interface → tick Show FPS (and optionally Show System Stats), then click Apply in the bottom right.

That way you can tell whether a change actually helped.

Update Java

A newer Java version alone is worth a decent chunk of framerate.

1. In Prism Launcher, select the Nur al-Jannah instance and click Edit in the right pane.

2. Go to Settings → Java tab.

3. In the Java Installation section, tick the checkbox in front of the section title.

4. Click Open Java Downloader.

5. Click Azul Zulu, untick Recommended, select Java 26, then pick the latest version (for example 26.0.2) and click Download.

6. When the download finishes, click Detect, choose the version you just downloaded and click Ok.

Use modern Java arguments

1. In Prism Launcher, select the Nur al-Jannah instance and click Edit in the right pane.

2. Go to Settings → Java tab.

3. In the Java Arguments section, replace everything that is there with:

4. Close the window and start the game.

Caution

These arguments need the Java version from the step above. Update Java first.

Graphics settings

Shader preset

The pack runs the High shader preset by default. A lower preset is the single biggest FPS win.

1. Switch the game to Windowed mode — the file picker in step 4 does not open in Fullscreen.

2. Go to Options → Video Settings → select Oculus in the left pane.

3. With the Complementary + Euphoria shader selected, click Shader Pack Settings.

4. In the top right, click Import settings from file and choose one of:

   ComplementaryUnbound + EuphoriaPatches.preset.high.txt (default)
   ComplementaryUnbound + EuphoriaPatches.preset.medium-high.txt
   ComplementaryUnbound + EuphoriaPatches.preset.medium.txt
   ComplementaryUnbound + EuphoriaPatches.preset.low.txt
   ComplementaryUnbound + EuphoriaPatches.preset.lowest.txt

5. Click Apply.

Particle amount

Go to Options → Video Settings → select Chloride in the left pane → Particles. Change Particles from All to Decreased or Minimal, then click Apply in the bottom right.

Graphics quality

Go to Options → Video Settings → under Embeddium in the left pane, select Quality. Change Graphics from Fancy to Fast, then click Apply in the bottom right.
